There are a variety of winter gloves to choose from. Different styles, colors, shapes, and fabrics. But when it comes down to it, winter gloves are pieces of fabric to cover our hands. This is especially important for those who live in colder climates and who experience winter chills. Most of us have experienced cold hands, but the thing that gets us the most are cold fingers. The places we are most likely to get frost bite is on the cheeks, toes and fingers. So when buying a pair of winter gloves we must make sure that they are going to protect our fingers from the cold.

If you're someone who is goes outside in the cold frequently, than you shouldn't be cheap when it comes to buying a pair of winter gloves.

Buying Winter Gloves and Mittens

1. Mittens are one of the best choices for winter hand wear because your fingers are together keeping each other toasty. Gloves on the other hand, separate the fingers which makes it much hard for them to keep warm. So it is important to look for heavily insulated fingers.

2. Wool has always been popular to keep people warm. It is no different with gloves. A nice wool exterior and extra insulation inside will keep your hands warm. But it is important to also have a layer of insulation for the palm of your hand. This is because most of the heat loss happens at the palm and not the fingers.

3. And finally, make sure the glove or mitten is long at the wrist. This is to ensure cold air doesn't get inside. Ideally, it would be nice to have 6 inches from the wrist up to ensure there is a large overlap from your coat to glove.
